As a resident of Moscow, this site is fascinating. While the Soviet-era architecture of Moscow is slowly being replaced, much remains, and some of the buildings shown in the drawings would fit right in to Moscow as it really is. Others, like the Palace of the Soviets above, are harder to imagine as real buildings. But that is true for some of the projects that were completed: I still find МГУ breathtaking.

Incidentally, I found this site through my subscription to the de.licio.us RSS feed for the keyword “moscow”. The results of such feeds are mixed, but sometimes they throw up gems like this.
